Changes in names of Morgan Stanley’s schemes

Jun 24, 2014
The schemes are now part of HDFC MF. Some will be merged into existing schemes, others may find a change in attributes.

A decade ago, HDFC Asset Management Company acquired Zurich AMC. On December 23, 2013, a scheme transfer agreement was signed between Morgan Stanley Investment Management and HDFC Asset Management Company. Under this agreement, HDFC Mutual Fund acquired the schemes of Morgan Stanley Mutual Fund.

Investors in Morgan Stanley's schemes would naturally be concerned about their systematic investment plans. Would they continue automatically under HDFC Mutual Fund or would they have to terminate it and start afresh? All these queries are answered on Morgan Stanley's website - click here.

What the pedigree of the fund house is concerned, investors need not fret. HDFC AMC is one of the best around. However, if you as an investor have suddenly found your exposure to HDFC mutual funds high because of the scheme merger, you could think of starting an SIP in a scheme of another fund house.

Below are the changes in the names of the schemes which came into effect on June 20, 2014. Investors of Morgan Stanley schemes please note the new fund names and the relevant changes.
