A good performer with a 15-year annualised return of 20.56%.
It’s performance in its initial years was nothing to write home about. In the up markets of 2005 and 2006, the fund landed in its category’s bottom quartile. In 2007, it put its best foot forward. Since then, the fund has managed to outperform the category average, barring 2011 and 2013.
Since the investment process and portfolio are geared towards the long term, it would be apt to evaluate the performance over the long haul. Over a market cycle (2003 through 2008), the fund (up 26% annualised) outscored the Sensex (up 19%) and 60% of the competition.
