Pankaj Sharma has been named Head of Fixed Income at DSP BlackRock Investment Managers.
Sharma was executive vice president, head of risk and quantitative analysis (RQA). This role will be taken over by Aparna Karnik as Sharma assumes charge as head of fixed income, replacing Dhawal Dalal.
Vikram Chopra and Kedar Karnik will be joining the firm’s Fixed Income Team.
Vikram joins DSP BlackRock from L&T Investment Management and brings with him over 14 years of investment experience. He has also previously worked with Fidelity, IDBI Bank and Axis Bank Ltd.
Kedar joins DSP BlackRock from Axis Asset Management and has over 10 years of investment experience. He has also previously worked with HSBC Asset Management and CRISIL Ltd.
Sharma joined the firm in 2003 and has more than 23 years of global and regional experience in asset management, investment banking and retail banking businesses. Before joining DSP BlackRock, Pankaj worked with Citigroup for almost 10 years with assignments covering India, Singapore and the United States.
Besides his regional responsibilities, he was responsible for risk taking activities and balance sheet management for three countries in Latin America.
Sharma holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science (Gold Medalist) and has an MBA from the XLRI School of Business.
