Do ethics matter in investing?

Sep 23, 2016

There is a yawning gap between following the law and being ethical. What one does may not necessarily be illegal, but could be viewed as unethical.

Michael McMillan, director of ethics and professional standards, CFA Institute, will be speaking at the Morningstar Investment Conference on why companies must have a strong ethical culture where individuals act more in consonant with the values of the company.

He will go one step further and explain how ethics, despite being intangible and hard to quantify, can be measured.

Now in its 6th year, the prestigious Morningstar® Investment Conference will be held in Mumbai on October 18-19, 2016.

The conference will address this and many more topical financial issues and investment strategies relevant to today’s market. Don’t miss it!

Join us as we bring together the financial industry’s top leaders, asset managers, and experts to discuss the dynamic investing landscape and investment strategies.

Well, thats a question that always made me laugh. As a capitalist in the market you cant sound like a socialist talking about ethics and the clearness of a trade as far as its fair by rules and thats square.

It'll be interesting to listen to the views I guess.
