IIFL Asset Management has appointed Anup Maheshwari as its joint chief executive officer and chief investment officer. He is expected to take charge from mid-August 2018.
Currently, Prashasta Seth is the chief investment officer at IIFL AMC who is responsible for overseeing all equity funds. Anup will be responsible for the investment and strategy for IIFL AMC’s business including mutual funds.
Anup brings with him 24 years of investment experience. An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, he joins IIFL AMC from DSP BlackRock Investment Managers. He had been with DSP BlackRock since July 1997 and was last designated as the chief investment officer (equities) and managed their domestic funds from May 2001 to June 30, 2012. He quit DSP BlackRock in April 2018. Recently, Gopal Agrawal joined DSP BlackRock as senior fund manager and head of macro strategy.
Anup was chief investment officer at HSBC Asset Management between December 2005 and May 2006 before returning to DSP BlackRock. Prior to joining DSP BlackRock, he had worked for Chescor, a British fund management firm that used to run three offshore funds investing in Indian equities.
IIFL Mutual Fund currently manages assets worth Rs 1,257 crore.
