Nimesh Shah has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Association of Mutual Funds in India, or AMFI. The decision was taken at the AMFI board meeting held on October 12 in Mumbai.
Shah is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund.
Shah replaces A Balasubramanian, Chief Executive Officer of Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund. Balasubramanian will continue to serve on AMFI board as Director. Kailash Kulkarni, Chief Executive Officer of L&T Mutual Fund will continue to serve as the Vice Chairman of AMFI.
In its board meeting held in September 2018, AMFI had appointed three new members as directors on its board:
- G Pradeepkumar, Chief Executive Officer, Union Mutual Fund
- Prathit Bhobe, Managing Director and Executive Officer, Tata Mutual Fund
- Vishal Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer, IDFC Mutual Fund
Radhika Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of Edelweiss Mutual Fund has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Committee on Registration of Certified Distributors.
