Equity mutual fund inflows continues to fall

Net inflows in equity funds (excluding balanced, ELSS and ETFs) fell further to Rs 3,948 crore in February 2019. In FY18-19, equity mutual fund net inflows reached a peak of Rs 11,422 crore in October 2018.

The net inflows in equity funds are falling consistently since October.

Inflows in balanced funds were negative for the second consecutive month. Balanced funds saw net outflows of Rs -1,077 crore in February 2019. Inflows from new fund offers stood at Rs 3,977 crore.

The highest net outflows in February 2019 were from liquid funds at Rs -24,509 crore due to quarter end. As a result, the total assets under management of the industry declined by Rs 20,715 crore from Rs 23.37 lakh crore in January 2019 to Rs 23.16 lakh crore in February 2019.
