Financial Services seems to be have been the sector most courted by fund managers at the start of this calendar year. In fact, ICICI Bank turned out to be the most popular stock in the first quarter of 2014.
On the other hand, Communications witnessed strong selling. Stocks like Reliance Communications and Tata Communications were offloaded from fund portfolios. In fact, Bharti Airtel was the most sold stock during this quarter.
Where the debt portfolios are concerned, fund managers toned down the average maturity across all duration products over the quarter. This goes to indicate that they are not too optimistic of a rate cut taking place in the near future.
