The term social capital was widely popularised by Robert Putnam, professor of public policy at Harvard University, in his book Bowling Alone.
It refers to the resources we garner from our network – friends, families, neighbours, acquaintances, colleagues, and connections.
Like any other form of capital, such as economic capital, this resource can be invested and grown or it can be neglected and lost. Leveraging social capital is something that most of us are not particularly adept at.
At the Morningstar Investment Conference, the presenter will discuss the sources of social capital, and the importance of building and nurturing it. Advisers would do well to understand how it can enhance their business.
The conference brings together a first-rate lineup of asset managers, advisers, executives, and strategists who are leaders in their respective fields. In a combination of presentations and panel discussions, they will share their views and insights.
Keynote presenters include Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance, and Hemant Contractor, Chairman, PFRDA.
Do join us for the Morningstar Investment Conference. You won't be disappointed. Not only will it be an excellent avenue for networking, but you will come away with amazing insights and perspectives.
