AMFI has appointed N. S. Venkatesh as its chief executive officer. The position was vacant after C V R Rajendran stepped down in December 2016 to join Catholic Syrian Bank.
Prior to joining AMFI, Venkatesh was the executive director at Lakshmi Vilas Bank. He has also worked with IDBI Bank for over a decade. A chartered accountant, Venkatesh has over three decades of experience across functions such as treasury, credit, audit and merchant banking.
Venkatesh joins the industry at a time when we are seeing healthy inflows in mutual funds with investor accounts crossing the six crore mark.
