These Debt Funds received the highest inflows last quarter

Fixed-income funds comprise around 38% of the total industry assets under management as of December 2021.

Open-end fixed-income funds saw net outflows worth Rs 21,277 crore in the third-quarter fiscal 2021- 22. Its assets under management as of December 2021 stood at Rs 14.05 lakh crore, 0.3% lower than December 2020 and 0.7% lower than the last quarter ended September 2021.

Here are funds that received the highest inflow and outflows during the December quarter 2021.

Short Duration Funds

The short-duration fund category constitutes about 10% of total open end fixed-income fund assets as of December 2021 and is the third-largest category in the fixed-income segment, with assets worth Rs 1.38 lakh crore.

In the third quarter of fiscal year 2021-22, the category saw net outflows of Rs 4,264 crore. This is the fourth-consecutive quarter in which there have been net outflows.

Credit Risk Funds

During the third quarter of the fiscal year 2021-22, the category received inflows worth Rs 412 crore. This is the third consecutive quarter in which the category has received net inflows.

Corporate Bond Funds

The category saw net outflows of Rs 9,774 crore during the quarter ended December 2021. This is the third consecutive quarter in which the category has had net outflows. In fact, quantum-wise, this outflow has been the highest among the three quarters.

Banking and PSU Funds

In the third quarter of the fiscal year 2021-22, the category saw net outflows of Rs 11,662 crore after net outflows of Rs 4,498 crore in the previous quarter. This is the fourth consecutive quarter where the category had net outflows. All through 2020, the Banking and PSU category managed to get a fair level of inflows (Rs 45,786 crore) as investors chose to park monies into safer options. However, in 2021, the category experienced net outflows of Rs 22,719 crore.
