India ETF Flows Hit Record Highs in 2025 as Precious Metals Lead the Surge

India's ETF market saw strong momentum in 2025, reinforcing the growing role of passive strategies in investor portfolios. Investor demand picked up meaningfully through the year, with precious metals emerging as a standout theme and equity allocations remaining focused on core market exposures. The trend also reflected evolving investor preferences, as ETFs continued to gain traction as accessible, liquid, and efficient portfolio-building tools in an increasingly dynamic market environment.

A notable feature of the year was the strong interest in precious metals, with gold and silver ETFs drawing increased attention amid uncertainty and periods of risk aversion. At the same time, equity demand remained anchored in broad large-cap exposures, highlighting a preference for diversified and liquid segments of the market. Provider-level shifts also pointed to a more competitive and broadening ETF landscape, as market leadership remained intact but competition intensified.
