At Morningstar, we recommend that investors in equity mutual funds invest systematically. By opting for the systematic investment plan, or SIP, a fixed amount is debited periodically from the investor’s bank account into the fund of his choice.

Start by typing in the fund name. Should you enter the wrong fund, there is a link on the right to enable you to rectify that mistake.
Once you have selected the fund, enter the required inputs such as the SIP amount and the SIP date. Regarding the frequency of installments, the fortnightly, monthly and quarterly options are provided.
The information thrown up will tell you how many units you have accumulated till date, the price at which the units were purchased, and the current value of your investment.
This tool also highlights what would have been the value of your investment had you opted for a one-time investment rather than going through the SIP route.
What’s even more impressive about this tool is that you need not stick to one fund but can go up to three.
